Here's how to use menu items while viewing Fractal Image Format files (FIFs) with the Fractal Viewer Application.
Displays information about the Fractal Viewer.
Opens directories to choose the FIF file you want to view.
Closes the application window.
Quits the application.
When selected, your mouse cursor is the plus (+) symbol whenever it is over a fractal image. Zoom in one level at a time with each click of the mouse.
When selected, your mouse cursor is the minus (-) symbol whenever it is over a fratal image. Zoom out one level at a time with each click of the mouse.
Returns image to the default scale and restarts decompression.
Stops decompression of current image while in progress.
When checked, eliminates the occassional block edges that can show up in FIF files made at high compression ratios.
When checked, enhances colors by averaging the true color values and the colormapped values so colors appear more accurate.
Available in color-mapped mode, uses a fixed color palette.
Available in color-mapped mode, produces optimal color palette and mapping.
Available in color-mapped mode, colors are generated from the 24-bit color data in the FIF file (if available).
Deactivates progressive decompression and its related options.
Simulates modem decompression rates in bits per second (bps).
Decompresses image by the best available steps for the selected progression rate.
Presents all steps of decompression of the image.
Presents only the first step of decompression of the image.
Presents only the last step of decompression of the image.
Presents image panel-by-panel at the slowest rate, both to provide maximum cancellation opportunity, and to allow other applications to run during decompression.
Displays image panel-by-panel.
Displays image row-by-row.
Displays image in full view.
Image gradually appears and increases in size as it decompresses.
Gradually increases the focus of the image as it decompresses.
Displays information about the image that is stored in the FIF file.
